Your hosts
Ian Murphy & Heather
Ian and Heather are your hosts aboard Auriga Bay II. They have cruised the waters of the Top End extensively and, as they live aboard most of the year, know the vessel intimately and most of the best spots in the region whether it be for calm anchorages, sightseeing, relaxing, archaeology, Indigenous culture or world class fishing. Over the last few years, with the increase in ‘Across the Top’ trips and research charters, their knowledge of the finer points has increased to enhance your experience of the Top End.
Heather’s eye for detail means that your stay on Auriga Bay II will always be a pleasure and her vast experience and organisational skills will ensure that nothing is left to chance – except maybe the weather!!
Ian has a Diploma in Applied Science (Marine Resources) and a Degree in Applied Science (Protected Area Management). His commitment to looking after the marine resources so that they can be enjoyed for years to come is unquestionable. His mission is to help manage the environment so that you can come back to enjoy the pristine environment and world class fishing for years to come.
Ian has cruised and fished in the Top End extensively over the last fifteen years and has developed strong relationships with some of the regions traditional owners allowing him (and his guests) access to areas usually inaccessible to regular visitors.
Ian is Master V qualified (skipper) and both Ian and Heather have St Johns Senior First Aid certificates.
